Passive Fire Protection Blackburn – Scope of Works
At Fireholt Fire Protection Ltd, we recently completed a comprehensive passive fire protection project at this care home located at Eleanor Street, Blackburn, BB1 1HW. This project involved working alongside the main contractor to deliver effective and durable fire safety solutions for the property. Our team supplied and installed 60-minute passive fire protection and 60-minute intumescent fire protection using Jotun Steelmaster, making sure the highest standards of fire safety were achieved.
Expert Passive Fire Protection Techniques
Our work primarily focused on fire-resistant solutions tailored to service penetrations throughout the care home. We utilised proven products such as Firebatt, mastic, compound and firewraps to provide reliable fire protection. These methods, combined with high-quality materials like Rockwool products, guaranteed a robust barrier against the spread of fire, offering the occupants critical time in the event of an emergency.
SteelMaster are thin-film intumescent coatings provide structural steel with protection against cellulosic fires. Formulated to deliver a thermal insulation and cooling effect with a duration of up to 180 minutes, SteelMaster coatings simultaneously enhance the beauty of steel design throughout the 77 room care home.
Full Compliance & Traceability
All tasks undertaken during this project were meticulously recorded for complete traceability. Using Firearrest software, we documented every stage of the work, making sure that all installations met the required safety standards.
What Is IFC Certification?
As part of our commitment to quality and compliance, all the fire protection work completed at care home was fully IFC certified. The International Fire Consultants (IFC) certification is a globally recognised standard that demonstrates the work has been independently assessed and meets rigorous fire safety requirements. This certification provides assurance to clients, contractors, and building owners that the passive fire protection systems installed are reliable, effective, and compliant with current regulations. For this care home in Blackburn, the IFC certification process underpinned our dedication to delivering safe and high-quality fire protection solutions.
Completed On Time, To A High Standard
We successfully completed the project in June 2024, delivering a fully functional and compliant fire protection system. The collaboration with the main contractor allowed us to integrate seamlessly into the project timeline, making sure the work was completed efficiently and professionally.
Fireholt Fire Protection Ltd is proud to have contributed to the safety of this extensive care home in Blackburn. Our team’s dedication to quality and safety highlights our reputation as a leading provider of passive fire protection solutions.
